Respawn's Anti-Cheat team has handed 60-day suspensions to 258 Apex Predator-ranked players on PlayStation and Xbox, following an investigation into account sharing on the ranked leaderboard.

The inquiry began after community reports flagged unusually long, continuous ranked play sessions among high-ranked accounts. A review of login activity and device data revealed those accounts being accessed from multiple distinct devices — behavior the team characterizes as deliberate account sharing to manipulate leaderboard standings.

What changed

PlayStation — 115 players suspended

  • 92 found to be frequently sharing accounts
  • 2 found sharing across five or more devices
  • 21 flagged for both frequent sharing and five-or-more-device access

Xbox — 143 players suspended

  • 124 found to be frequently sharing accounts
  • 2 found sharing across five or more devices
  • 17 flagged for both frequent sharing and five-or-more-device access

Beyond the suspensions, all associated ranked points have been removed from penalized accounts. Respawn states account sharing violates its Terms of Service and that monitoring of ranked play will continue.

The team also addressed a separate community claim that recent bans had caught legitimate players in Bot Royale matches by mistake. After reviewing the flagged accounts and conducting additional validation, the team confirmed those bans were valid — though the source text cuts off before the full conclusion is recorded.

For players competing honestly in ranked, the action means the Predator leaderboard has been partially cleared of positions that weren't earned in the conventional sense.
