Bard's Fault v1.1 Patches Invisible Enemies, FPS Drops, and Achievement Exploits
A wide-ranging fixes update addresses critical rendering failures, multiplayer inconsistencies, and a trap that was quietly destroying frame rates.
The first substantial patch for Bard's Fault (v1.1) lands with corrections across nearly every system in the game — from enemy rendering to boss visual effects to a multiplayer achievement shortcut that let players claim kills they never earned.
What Changed
Critical Fixes
- A boss tentacle attack now displays its ground warning correctly, giving players a fair window to dodge.
- Some enemies were not rendering at all; that critical visibility bug has been resolved.
- Players joining multiplayer at Phases 4, 5, or 6 without having completed prior maps can no longer unlock the sub-boss kill achievement simply by entering the arena and dying.
Gameplay and Balance
- The lobby no longer allows multiple players to select the same character.
- The Pirate Facet (Anchor) is disabled against Bosses — the patch notes acknowledge it was "way too strong" — and the Anchor now clears from the scene properly after use.
- The Bard Facet now deals damage as intended, and its collision box is hidden in-game.
- Laser Eye applies damage correctly even when the player is standing still.
- The Dash effect now replicates properly for clients across all maps in multiplayer.
Optimization
- Pirate's Trap received general optimization to resolve severe FPS drops the developer describes as "the infamous PC destroyer."
Visuals and UI
- Several boss VFX were visually blown out; they have been adjusted.
- Damage VFX near bosses now renders in the final build.
- Decal reception is fixed on the Mimic and Slime; chain assets had missing materials, now resolved.
- Manual aim mode no longer shows the crosshair during full-auto, and dead characters will no longer spin to follow the mouse cursor.
- The Mage's Frozen Ground no longer bleeds outside map boundaries on the Ship phase minimap.
- The Shop's Combo visual resets correctly during the shop phase.
For players who hit framerate walls or encountered enemies that simply weren't there, this patch directly addresses both.
