Irox Games has shipped a multiplayer-focused update for Bongo Cat, centered on a new Spawn Settings system accessible from the Multiplayer tab.

What changed

Multiplayer Layout Settings

  • Eight patterns available to automatically align cats on screen, each with a configurable anchor point
  • Individual cat slots can be enabled or disabled to keep parts of the screen clear
  • All cats can be rotated simultaneously
  • Cats can be swapped by dragging one onto another
  • Snap Cats locks cats into pattern-defined slots
  • A Recalculate button re-evaluates the layout instantly; cats placed outside the pattern stay put
  • Press F6 in a lobby to preview all current slots
  • Additional pattern-specific settings are included

Quality of life

  • Inventory now opens and closes via Esc, M, or the middle mouse button (while hovering over your cat)
  • Cat patting can be disabled under Settings > Interaction
  • The white flash on startup has been shortened

Bug fixes

  • Inventory occasionally failing to refresh
  • Emote wheel resetting randomly
  • The Multiplayer Popup setting blocking gifts when turned off
  • BongoDex hiding items from a fully hidden collection even when some were owned
  • Holding Enter spamming the chat
  • Tooltips persisting after their menu was closed

The developer notes that performance improvements are next on the list, with a larger update described as in progress.

For players who run Bongo Cat in shared or streaming contexts, the layout system finally provides structured control over how multiple cats occupy the screen.
