Bookbinding Adds 72 Epilogues to Address Criticized Abrupt Ending

The team behind Bookbinding – Dark Cozy Sim has shipped what it calls a major update, directly responding to the most common player complaint logged in reviews: an ending that felt abrupt and unfinished.

The developers acknowledge the criticism plainly in their announcement, writing that they "completely hear you, we agree, and we are sincerely sorry" — and that the epilogue content should have been present at launch.

What changed

• 72 new epilogue scenarios added to expand the game's conclusion
• All 14 characters are now covered by epilogue content; some will have minor variations depending on player choices
• Major bug fixes targeting the most-reported community issues
• Main character (MC)-specific epilogues are noted as still in progress, to be added after the team rests

The studio also outlined work currently underway for future updates, including additional narrative scenes, Steam Achievements, Steam Deck optimization, and localizations into German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish — with Chinese, Polish, and Russian described as coming later.

For players who bounced off the original release, the update represents a substantive course correction on the game's most fundamental structural flaw.
