BoxR Exits Early Access at Version 2.1.0 with a New Speedrun Mode
The stacking puzzler leaves Early Access on August 29, 2026, adding timed Speedrun variants to its existing Classic and Roguelike modes.
BoxR, the box-stacking game from developer Wasupwithuman, has left Early Access. Version 1.0 — build 2.1.0 — went live on August 29, 2026, for Windows and Mac at $1.99.
The two existing modes carry over intact: Classic remains the stacking run, and Roguelike retains its waves-and-drafts structure. The notable addition at launch is Speedrun, which comes in two flavors.
What changed
- Speedrun Classic drops all 99 boxes simultaneously and records your best clear time; deaths are never saved as records.
- Speedrun Roguelite runs the same race but opens with five start-only drafts before the timer begins.
- Classic and Roguelike modes are otherwise unchanged from Early Access.
- The game is available on Windows and Mac.
For players who have been running Classic or Roguelike casually, the Speedrun modes introduce a concrete competitive layer — a leaderboard-ready structure where only successful clears count.
