Developer LavenderD has pushed an update to BreakDespair2D that addresses two distinct problems: the accuracy of the English localization and the absence of a proper settings interface.

What changed

• English dialogue revised throughout to more closely reflect the events, character relationships, and emotional tone of the Japanese source text
• Japanese character names that appeared incorrectly during English-language scenes have been corrected
• Settings menu added to both the title screen and the in-game battleship
• Zone Talk can now be toggled ON or OFF
• Screen-size options are now selectable
• Settings menu layout and controls have been improved
• Players who have seen the full ending can now skip the staff roll on subsequent viewings
• The ending sequence has received pacing and presentation improvements

The localization corrections are the substantive core here.
