Changeable Guardian ESTIQUE Demo Patched: Controls, Subtitles, and Display Fixes
A focused update to the game's demo addresses controller layout, subtitle bugs, and a handful of quality-of-life adjustments across audio and display.
A new build of the Changeable Guardian ESTIQUE demo went live on July 31, 2026, bringing a set of targeted corrections rather than new content.
What changed
- Sound: Volume levels for some sound effects have been adjusted.
- Controller layout: Menu navigation bindings have been revised — Confirm is now mapped to A, Cancel to B.
- Subtitles: Two bugs fixed — one where subtitles displayed incorrectly when enabled mid-gameplay, and one where subtitle text was cut off during the rewind feature.
- Language: The game's initial startup language now automatically syncs with the user's Steam language settings.
- Display: In full-screen mode, a 4:3 aspect ratio will now stretch the game screen to fill the entire display.
- Ownership verification: A fix has been implemented to properly verify game ownership through the Steam client at startup.
The subtitle and rewind fix is the most functionally significant change for players who rely on text, while the controller remapping brings the default layout in line with the near-universal A/B convention — a small correction with an outsized effect on first impressions.
