Crimson Desert Patch 1.18.00 Overhauls Knowledge System and Quest Flow
A broad update reorganizes how players track quest progress and animal knowledge while fixing a string of trade, quest, and stability bugs.
Crimson Desert's Version 1.18.00 patch, published on 15 August 2026, is live now on both Steam (PC) and Steam (Mac).
What changed
Knowledge system
- A new "Quests" knowledge category has been added, divided into eight sub-categories: Main Quests, Faction Quests, Investigation Quests, Research Quests, Daily Life Quests, Guide, Archive Records, and Constellations.
- Certain quest knowledge entries will be granted retroactively if the corresponding quest was already completed before the patch.
- Knowledge of certain animals can now be earned by picking them up rather than killing them.
- Knowledge of "Mysterious Invitation" can now be obtained after completing "Read the memory beneath Delesyia Castle."
Economy and progression
- The resource required for research has changed from silvers to camp funds.
- A bug allowing high-value trade goods to be stacked and loaded in quantities of up to 100 has been fixed.
- Merchants failing to appear at trading stalls in certain situations has been resolved.
Quests and world
- The location of the item "Baker's Note" in the quest "Haverson's Request" has been moved.
- The pensive statue at Jijeong Temple no longer incorrectly reverts to its unrepaired state during the related quest.
- The Chapter 4 quest chain involving Mysterious Pot and Kiln Repair at the Kilnden Workshop now allows broken kiln pieces to be reattached using "Force Current."
- The "Defeat the enemies around the cabin" objective near Cairn House now appears correctly.
- Horse gear can now be equipped directly at the stable.
Taken together, the quest knowledge overhaul and retroactive entry grants offer a meaningful catch-up for players already deep into the campaign, while the trade and quest fixes address friction that had been disrupting normal progression.
