Dungeons & Dragons Online received Update 81.1 on August 5th, 2026, delivering a concentrated set of bug fixes across crafting systems, dungeon quests, and UI behavior — no new content listed.

What changed

Essence Crafting & Item Disjunction

  • Fixed several typos and text errors in Essence Crafting recipes and Shards.
  • Purified Eberron Dragonshards removed from Dual-Prefix crafting shard recipes.
  • Dissolving an item now displays the essence amount gained in chat.
  • Players can once again dissolve already-created bound and unbound crafting shards to recoup some of their Essence cost.
  • Lingering references to the deprecated Dissolver item and Magic Item Crafting have been removed from the text.

Item Disjunction Machine

  • Now correctly closes its window when leaving the area, rather than silently crashing the UI.
  • Its map note has been restored.

Quest fixes

  • "A Long Way to Mushrooms": fixed a walkable bypass that broke the opening NPC sequence; fixed an end boss immortality state that could halt completion.
  • "For Want of a Heart": soul stone and carried crests are now teleported to a safe spot if the player dies in lava.
  • "The Fetid Wedding": fixed the dimensional anchor; corrected the spore-smashing count; resolved a tracker failure for the "Find Zuggtmoy's Bridesmaid" event.
  • "Demon in the Rough": fixed an out-of-order NPC dialogue issue.
  • "Stealing from Sorcere": now warns players about using Monk Slow Fall in the Sorcere Commons chamber.

Miscellaneous

  • Stonespeaker Crystals in Gravenhollow should work more reliably.
  • Gromph's Spellbook is slightly easier to pick up in rare cases.
  • The feat Deflect Arrows is now categorized more appropriately.
  • Fixed multiple typos across Terror of Demogorgon content.

For players working through the Underdark quest chain in particular, the immortal-boss and lava-death fixes remove two of the more disruptive progression stoppers this patch addresses.
