Detonate & Dash Launches Free: A Local-Multiplayer Bomb-Pass Party Game
A couch-focused party game built around a ticking bomb and social chaos arrives on Steam at no cost, with eight distinct modes on day one.
Detonate & Dash is now available on Steam as a free-to-play title, built for local multiplayer on a single shared screen. The premise is blunt: someone is holding a live bomb, and when the timer expires, that player is eliminated. From that one rule, eight modes branch outward.
What's included at launch
- Classic — pass the bomb, avoid holding it at zero
- OG Mode — the original ruleset, described as faster and meaner
- Zombie — tagged players join a horde hunting the survivors
- Countdown — the clock runs without pause
- Elimination — last player standing; a pad flips the loser's screen upside down
- Survivor — two lethal clocks run simultaneously
- Sports Arena — two teams, one ball, first to ten
- Duel — turn-based bomb artillery
The game supports up to four players on one screen, with both controller and keyboard input. Solo players can fill empty seats with bots. Fifty-six arenas are available across the package, and the game runs on Windows and macOS.
There are no lobbies and no matchmaking — the design is explicitly oriented toward people in the same room. For players who have lost local-multiplayer options to the shift toward online-only party games, a free, no-setup alternative with this breadth of modes is a reasonable find.
