Dev Life: Tap & Code

Solo developer verf89 has shipped a localization-focused update for Dev Life: Tap & Code, bringing the game's total language count to 27.

What changed

Four new languages added:

  • Indonesian
  • Traditional Chinese
  • Hungarian
  • Bulgarian

All four cover the UI, tutorial, projects, mini-games, events, and story goals.

Translation fixes across all existing languages:

  • Corrupted characters and question marks substituting for letters have been resolved
  • Text that stubbornly remained in English after a language switch is now corrected
  • Project titles, employee notifications, tooltips, and instructions have been reviewed and fixed
  • Active project titles and launched startup names now render in the selected language

UI and display improvements:

  • Long text labels and line breaks display correctly
  • Phishing detective email cards, mini-game instructions, and the settings menu have been checked across resolutions, including small windows
  • Simplified and Traditional Chinese are now listed as distinct options in the language menu
  • System language detection has been improved
  • The selected language now persists after restarting the game

Saves are unaffected — the update carries no progress reset and no changes to game balance.

For players who had been navigating a partially broken translation experience, this patch addresses the most disruptive rendering failures while meaningfully widening the game's accessible audience.
