Din's Champion Patch 1.000 Tightens Combat, Fixes Monster Digging, Expands Collectibles
A wide-ranging patch addresses skill timing, NPC balance, line-of-sight gaps, and a handful of longstanding bugs across Soldak Entertainment's action RPG.
Soldak Entertainment has pushed patch 1.000 for Din's Champion, touching combat mechanics, monster behaviour, skill interactions, and content additions in one consolidated update.
What changed
Combat and skills
- Skill reuse time now correctly counts the first half of the animation, closing a timing gap that inflated effective cooldowns.
- The Convergence skill was incorrectly applying radius reduction twice to skills such as Immolation Trap (They Live); that double-penalty is removed.
- Beams and chaining abilities now require line of sight and can no longer pass through solid blocks when no target is present.
- Sweeping Flames damage is now confined to its cone shape, and its visual effect better matches that cone.
- Frost Nova's damage speed has been corrected to match its visual effect speed.
- Projectile chaining is improved when targeting mid-air rather than a direct entity, and
touchDistanceis capped atexplosionRadiuswhere applicable.
NPCs and monsters
- NPCs now receive difficulty bonus multipliers, making them meaningfully more relevant at higher difficulty settings.
- Monsters no longer attempt to attack door blocks directly; sight-line detection for actual doors is also corrected.
- A further case of monsters being unable to dig themselves free has been resolved.
- Trees now hold higher targeting priority than other plants such as grass.
World and client stability
- Players are prevented from moving if their location's blocks have not yet been received from the server, closing a rare edge case that could cause players to fall out of the world.
- The hidden dig entity no longer falls incorrectly.
- Client-side target selection sync with the server is fixed when
CanOnlyTargetDirectlyis set.
Content and crafting
- Two new code paintings have been added.
- All newer unique items have been added to the collections.
- Torches can now be crafted at a workbench in addition to crafting by hand.
- A duplicate unlock entry for Demonologist mail boots was removed; a missing unlock for mail chest armour (Valta) was added.
Taken together, the patch meaningfully tightens the feel of ranged and area skills while making NPC companions more competitive at harder difficulty levels.
