Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

The latest patch for Dungeon Defenders: Awakened arrives with targeted fixes to bonus difficulty scaling that had been causing excessive enemy health across several late-game maps, alongside a new Map of the Week rotation and a handful of quality-of-life additions.

What Changed

Map of the Week — Throne Room

  • Completing on Nightmare or Massacre difficulty awards double Rune drops (Campaign).
  • Completing the Chicken Challenge on Insane difficulty or higher awards double challenge rewards.
  • Massacre-difficulty Chicken Challenge runs have a rare chance to drop Overload.
  • Survival/Mixed Mode and Pure Strategy completions require the Rifted Mode difficulty modifier.
  • Tiered reward pools cover items including Fused Militia Piece, Monk Animus, Arcanist Helmet, Bubble Blaster 9000, Monk Guardian, and Fused Clearly Not PPE, among others.

Map of the Week Indicator

  • A star indicator has been added to the corner of the Map Select UI to identify the current Map of the Week. The developers note this is not the final design.

Bonus Difficulty Scaling Reductions Addressing excessive health scaling in Act 4 and Act 5 maps:

  • The Mill (Pure Strategy) — Lycan King scalar reduced from 8.962 → 2.25; Dune Eater from 11.125 → 2.75.
  • The Outpost (Pure Strategy) — Lycan King reduced from 8.962 → 2.3; Dune Eater from 11.125 → 2.8.
  • Forges and Foundries — Lycan King reduced from 8.962 → 2.5; Dune Eater from 11.125 → 2.9.
  • Additional maps appear in the patch notes but the source text is truncated.

The scaling reductions in particular stand to make late-act content meaningfully more approachable without altering the underlying map design.
