Echoes of Aincrad Explains How to Carry Demo Saves Into the Full Game
A procedural guide from the developer walks players through the one-time transfer process — and flags a few irreversible pitfalls.
Echoes of Aincrad has published instructions for moving save data from its demo version into the full release, along with a handful of edge-case warnings worth reading before touching anything.
What the process involves
- The full game must be updated to its latest version before a transfer can begin; a network connection is required to install it.
- On first launch of the full version, a prompt appears automatically if demo save data is detected — players select "Carry over" to proceed.
- All save data slots are transferred together; there is no option to move individual slots.
- On the confirmation screen, players must press and hold "Confirm" rather than a standard tap or click.
- After a successful transfer, data is accessible from the save selection screen via "Game Start".
Important caveats
- Selecting "Do not carry over" at the initial prompt is permanent — the screen will not appear again on subsequent launches.
- Recovery is possible, but only by deleting all save slots in the full version and creating a new save file to trigger the option again.
- Demo save data on the source device must not be deleted during or after the process.
- Save data carried over from the demo cannot be used with Death Game mode. That mode, if unlocked, is only available when creating a second or later save file.
Players who skipped the prompt on first launch still have a path forward, but the deletion workaround requires caution — losing the original demo saves would remove the option entirely.
