Empyrion v1.18.2 Patches Achievement Bug as v1.18.1 Overhauls Status Effects
A two-part update brings Steam and Epic achievements, cleaner status-effect UI, and several server-side economy changes to Galactic Survival.
The latest pair of builds for Empyrion - Galactic Survival (AppID 383120) arrived on 16 July 2026 under the authorship of Taelyn, combining a substantive feature update with a targeted bug-fix release.
What changed
Build 5116 (v1.18.2)
- Fixed an exception that occurred when a player action attempted to unlock a single-event achievement a second time.
Build 5115 (v1.18.1)
- Added the first batch of achievements for both Steam and Epic players.
- Introduced new and updated Status Effect icons described as offering improved clarity.
- Updated the Empyriopedia (PDA) entries for status effects (Afflictions) with new reference information — currently in English only.
- Refreshed the NoFood and RadiationImmunity icons specifically for clarity.
- Updated DF and Testing Grounds with new status effect changes.
- Powerbars/Energy bar behaviour was corrected; it previously had a high chance to cause indigestion.
- Official Servers (All): Reverted build-block volume changes to their v1.17 state.
- EU / NA Servers: Moved certain epic items — CPU Cores and Upgrade Kits — from the Epic Dealer (Trader) to loot found inside POIs.
- Fixed Radiation Burn to trigger correctly at more than 5 RAD rather than more than 1 RAD.
- Fixed incorrect PDA information about Radiation Overload.
- Added a missing icon for the Exhausted status effect.
The reversion of block-volume changes and the shift of high-tier loot into POIs will have the most tangible effect on server play, nudging progression back toward exploration rather than vendor purchases.
