Empyrion v1.18.2 Patches Achievement Bug; v1.18.1 Adds Steam Achievements and Status Effect Overhaul
A two-build update to Empyrion - Galactic Survival tidies achievement handling while its predecessor delivered the game's first Steam achievements and a broad rework of status effect presentation.
Build 5116 — the v1.18.2 patch — is a single targeted fix: an exception that fired when a player action attempted to unlock a single-event achievement a second time has been resolved. Small in scope, but the kind of error that surfaces as soon as achievements are introduced to a live game.
The more substantial work arrived in v1.18.1 (Build 5115).
What changed
- Achievements added — the first batch of achievements is now live for both Steam and Epic players.
- Status effect icons revised across the board for improved clarity; the NoFood and RadiationImmunity icons received specific updates, and a missing icon for the Exhausted status effect was added.
- Empyriopedia (PDA) entries for status effect afflictions updated with new reference information (currently English only).
- Radiation Burn now correctly triggers above 5 RAD rather than above 1 RAD; PDA information for RadiationOverload was also corrected.
- Powerbars / Energy bar behavior was adjusted — described in the notes as having had a high chance to cause indigestion, suggesting unintended interaction with food or survival mechanics.
- Build block volume changes on Official Servers have been reverted to v1.17 values.
- On EU and NA servers, CPU Cores and Upgrade Kits have been moved from the Epic Dealer (Trader) into POI loot tables.
- Defense and Testing grounds updated to reflect the new status effect changes.
For players on official servers, the reversion of block volume changes and the shift of high-value items into exploration loot are the most immediate practical effects.
