Escape from Vacov patch fixes broken achievements, rebalances traps and visuals
A focused update from developer BunFlacher addresses three silently broken achievements, reworks trap behavior, and cleans up a muddy visual presentation.
Published 18 August 2026, this patch for Escape from Vacov touches three distinct layers of the game: how it looks, how its traps behave, and whether its achievements actually fire.
What changed
Visuals
- Airborne dust has been toned down so platforms and hazards remain readable
- Sky wash, glow, and floor haze have been strengthened for what the notes describe as more "server bay" atmosphere
- Bloom, vignette, and grain have been retuned — the target is less muddy, not more dramatic
Feel and trap mechanics
- Jumps and landings are described as snappier and more consistent
- One-jump pads now grant a free first jump; the second jump is the ceiling, and the counter resets on death — including at edges and with hold-to-jump
- Jump-kill pads kill on any jump; walking the invisible floor is safe
- Blink floors pulse continuously again, reversing a bug where they would vanish and stay gone
- Shove walls now only grab on contact before flinging the player back
- Early laser rooms have a clarified rule: red means stand still, blue means keep moving
Achievements (fixed)
- Ghost Protocol — walk across an invisible floor and survive
- Clean Record — finish any world without dying
- Fast Extract — complete the game in under 50 minutes
All three were failing to unlock correctly and have been corrected.
For players who suspected a run had already earned one of those three achievements, it is now worth attempting again.
