Fell & Sell Adds Full Controller Support and Squashes Launch Bugs
A week into launch, the shopkeeping dungeon game's first major patch addresses its most disruptive player-reported issues and opens the door to Steam Deck play.
Fell & Sell's debut week has ended with a substantial patch from developer starykazia, centered on two pillars: controller support and targeted fixes for bugs that were disrupting early playthroughs.
What changed
- Full Controller Support is now live, with the developer noting improved Steam Deck compatibility as a direct result
- Auto Pickup added for gathering loot in dungeons
- Full Key Rebinding — every key can now be remapped
- Scene & Shop Building Fixes — items and furniture no longer disappear when returning to the main scene or constructing new shops
- Quest Board Overhaul — the "empty board" bug is resolved, and quest rewards no longer vanish after loading a save
- Save Improvements — auto-save stutter reduced, crash-on-save addressed on some systems, and "Unnamed" save file generation fixed
- Cell Room Fix — dungeon gates no longer remain locked after enemies are cleared
- QuickSlot UI — input icons added above the quickslot bar (source text truncated here)
The patch log cuts off mid-sentence in the source, so the QuickSlot UI change may be incompletely described. Further Steam Deck optimizations are noted as ongoing work for future updates.
For players whose early sessions were marred by vanishing furniture, disappearing quest rewards, or save file instability, this update directly targets the friction that mattered most at launch.
