GONE Fishing patch brings catch multiplier reports, faster beer, and a quieter kraken
A dense mid-September update addresses inventory logic, boat collision, and two audio bugs that had left certain creature sounds outside player volume control.
Developer Bigsexy has pushed an update to GONE Fishing (AppID 3645890) carrying a handful of quality-of-life additions alongside a focused round of bug fixes.
What changed
Additions
- A new catch report now displays which multipliers are boosting a fish's sale value, visible immediately after a catch. The feature can be toggled in the gameplay options menu.
- Drinking a beer now takes 4.8 seconds rather than 8.2 seconds.
Bug fixes
- Body parts no longer display incorrect weight values.
- Selling a depth finder no longer leaves its depth overlay visible after the item leaves inventory.
- Items dropped on the canyon raft boat can now be picked up reliably.
- A depth finder no longer requires a drop-and-pickup cycle to activate when loading a saved game.
- Multiple boat collision issues affecting item pickup and attachment have been resolved.
- Boats no longer automatically collect items they drive over in the water (an exception remains for very large items).
- Kraken attack sounds are now tied to a volume slider; default volume has been reduced by 40%.
- The jumpscare crab's sounds are now tied to a volume slider; default volume has been reduced by 50%.
Bigsexy also noted that work on a musket and blunderbuss is planned to begin the following day, though nothing beyond that intention is stated in the update.
For players, the most immediate gains are the transparency around fish valuation and the long-overdue audio controls for the game's louder creature events.
