Grain Rot Patch 1.08 Adds Vessels, Constructs, and Grief Protection

Grain Rot's Patch 1.08, published by developer Narovana on 26 August 2026, spreads its changes across content, multiplayer systems, and a long list of bug fixes.

What changed

New content

• A small Vessel named Boing has been added.
• Seven new buildable constructs arrive: three common, one rare, one epic, and two legendary.
• Small Vessels can now carry and hold up to one item.

Multiplayer and servers

• Grief protection is now a per-player setting that can be toggled off; when active, it prevents potentially harmful actions outside the Deep Layers.
• Password-protected server security has been improved, and a search filter plus icon for such servers has been added.
• Banned players are now persistent across sessions.

Bug fixes and polish

• Renaming and copying save files to different slots now works correctly.
• Cosmetic spawn count in dungeons has been reduced from two to one.
• A bug where carrying multiple Shade Spears could fail to block the sun has been fixed.
• Collision has been improved for several treasures, the bunkbed mesh, walls in the Brimstone Citadel biome, and a Pressure Plate room in Hollow Halls.
• The battery item now breaks correctly at zero durability.
• Players can no longer change eyes and badges on small Vessels.
• Various input rebinding bugs have been resolved, including one where a bound crouch-hold action caused the spark move-down action to get stuck.
• The Wailer's attack patterns have been tweaked so it no longer opens with an AoE attack when blocked by constructs; a new melee attack has also been added to its repertoire.
• Network replication for placing new constructs has been improved, and clients should no longer see incorrect durability values on items.

Taken together, the update meaningfully expands build variety and tightens multiplayer safety, while addressing enough collision and persistence bugs to make sessions noticeably more stable.
