Grounded 2 Patch 0.5.1 Fixes Buggies, Molars, and a Bubble Diffuser Exploit

Patch 0.5.1 for Grounded 2 arrived on September 24, 2026, carrying one notable content addition, one content removal, and a lengthy list of bug fixes authored by Obsidian Aarik.

What changed

General changes

• Buggy perception has been buffed so they engage more readily in fights alongside the Player and Teen.
• Molar Upgrades have been added for Mega Milk Molars, Milk Molars, and Moldy Milk Molars.
• Infused Ooze has been removed from the game; the Tier 4 Omni-Axe recipe has been updated accordingly.

Selected bug fixes

• The Genuine Gathering Ant mutation was incorrectly boosting the drop rate of the Everlasting Hogstopper trinket when chopping Billy Hogs with Ant Buggies.
• The hatch to The Abyss could not be opened in Creative mode; the Diving Suit is no longer required to do so.
• Destroying a nest could permanently disable the Buggy.
• The Bubble Diffuser could supply infinite air after being destroyed — a clear exploit now closed.
• Enhancing fist weapons with elemental damage was stripping their original damage type.
• Items placed into a Buggy's inventory via mouse could vanish.
• The Ladybug Buggy's Reservoir could not be filled with Pond Water.
• The Halloween background and event information were absent from the Main Menu.
• Various cosmetic and audio issues — including a stretched molar icon, mismatched Green Shield Bug preview, and water footstep sounds on the Diving Station floor — have been corrected.

The removal of Infused Ooze is the patch's most structurally significant change, as it alters a Tier 4 crafting recipe and suggests a deliberate design pivot players will need to account for.
