HumanitZ Experimental 1.1 Branch Opens for Public Testing
Six months after version 1.0, the survival game invites players into an opt-in experimental branch ahead of a full 'Spooky Update' release.
HumanitZ has opened a public experimental branch, designated 1.1, roughly six months after the game's 1.0 launch. The update is available now on Steam and is framed as a feedback-gathering exercise before a full rollout tied to what the developers call the Spooky Update.
The branch was initially shaped by a private testing group before being opened more broadly. The developers acknowledge bugs are possible and intend to continue adding content during the experimental cycle.
What changed
- A new NPC Recruitment system is listed among the additions (the source cuts off before further features are detailed)
- Experimental branch data is stated to carry over to the 1.1 full release
- No official servers will be available on the experimental branch at launch, though the developers note that may change
How to opt in
Right-click HumanitZ in your Steam Library, select Properties → Game Versions and Betas, and choose the Experimental entry dated 27 August.
Save file warning: Starting a new save is strongly recommended. Loading an existing save on the experimental branch will prevent reverting it to version 1.09.A, and the developers state they cannot recover corrupted saves.
For players willing to accept some instability, the branch offers early access to 1.1 features and a direct line into shaping the final release.
