HumanitZ Experimental 1.1 v0.3 Patches AI, Survival Systems Ahead of Stable Release
The latest Experimental branch update prioritises bug fixes and quality-of-life changes as the team approaches next month's Stable 1.1 release.
The third Experimental patch for HumanitZ's 1.1 branch has arrived, authored by YozMon and focused squarely on stability and friction reduction rather than new content. Two dedicated test servers — one EU, one US — have been spun up to stress-test server-side changes alongside the patch.
What changed
Quality-of-life and systems adjustments:
- NPC recruitment now requires completion of the Radio Tower questline
- AI human movement, combat, and crouching behaviour has been revised
- Zeek and animal detection and attack logic adjusted (including the rabbit-attack edge case)
- Vaulting from lower to higher terrain no longer causes players to get stuck
- Showers now fill via rain and snow, and can be topped up with bottles by players or NPCs
- Dropped backpacks are cleaned up by a server timer check
- Climbing through windows and over fences from a crouch now keeps the player crouched
- Additional controller keybinds added for the pie menu and emote/commands
- Tire durability slightly increased with reduced degradation over time
- UI now shows only the keybinds relevant to the active input device
Bug fixes:
- "Must Be Owner" / "You Don't Own This" errors in single-player and host-multiplayer building resolved
- Scrap vehicles no longer respawn inside protected respawn areas
- Duct Tape repair value corrected
- Num4 and Num6 hardcoded keybind issues resolved
- Landmines no longer kill NPCs
- Admin-spawned dead NPCs no longer return to life
- Scarves no longer delete beards
- Upgraded large gate with sheet metal no longer damages players and NPCs as if barbed wire were present
- Controller multi-item selection for quest turn-in fixed
- Starting a new game with the same name as an old save no longer imports old character data
With the Stable 1.1 release described as coming next month, this patch suggests the team is in a final clean-up pass — meaning most of these corrections should reach the broader player base relatively soon.
