Incrempire 1.0.1 Rebalances Late-Game Runes and Adds Thunder Ball Skill

The patch addresses a core design tension between active and idle play while overhauling the rune economy across the board.

Incrempire

Incrempire's first post-launch patch arrives with a new skill, a sweep of balance changes, and a batch of bug fixes — including one that, quietly, made the final boss entirely harmless.

What changed

New content

  • Thunder Ball has been added to the Skill Tree. Per the developer's note, both Force Ball and Thunder Strike lose relevance in the late game; Thunder Ball bridges them by causing Force Ball's active ability to summon lightning strikes on enemy collision.

Quality of life

  • Runes can now be upgraded by pressing the V key.

Balance

  • Difficulty reduced on the final levels (22–25)
  • Enemy rune drop chance slightly increased
  • Base stats of all runes increased
  • Maximum rune tier that can spawn has been raised
  • The Protection Money and Nova Damage rune attributes have been removed
  • First-time completion rewards reduced for early levels
  • Building unlock and upgrade costs slightly increased

Fixes

  • Final boss now correctly deals damage
  • Snowball no longer instantly kills targets before Nova triggers
  • Rune level display corrected for values with three or more digits
  • Crash after reaching Level 300 resolved
  • Achievement triggers and UI popups no longer fire incorrectly when replaying earlier levels
  • Rune break values corrected

Known issue: Tutorial videos do not appear on Linux.

The developer also notes that a roadmap of upcoming features and changes will be shared soon — for now, the patch's rune economy reshaping and late-game difficulty reduction give players a materially different experience heading into the endgame.
