Mahou Arms

The 1.0 launch of Mahou Arms arrived with a handful of bugs significant enough that developer Dischan Media published a dedicated post acknowledging them and offering interim workarounds while fixes are prepared. The studio's stated target is resolution within a week.

What's broken

  • Choice UI disappears with uncapped FPS — difficulty selectors and certain menu items (including the Exodus entrance) may not render. Capping the framerate to 60 is the current workaround.
  • Early Access saves can block Chapter 7 — saves from before 1.0, particularly those that completed Chapter 6, may prevent progression. Starting a new game is recommended; the studio notes old saves will also lack proper leveling and skill points introduced in 1.0.
  • Chapter 1 boss can still attack during her defeat cutscene — the only mitigation is entering that moment with high health.
  • Amelia's finisher deals no damage outside Magical Girl Mode — gunslinger-mode finishers are non-functional for damage; avoiding them is the workaround.
  • Chests in Chapter 1 don't reset on death — dying before completing the chapter locks those chests permanently on respawn, causing item loss. No solid mitigation exists yet.
  • Game not working on some Linux installs — no further detail or workaround was provided in the post.

For players starting fresh on a supported system, none of these issues should be game-stopping — but Early Access veterans carrying old saves face the most disruptive situation, with a new-game restart as the only reliable path forward.
