Mr. President Exits Early Access with 1.0 Launch

Mr. President (AppID 3333670) has left Early Access with its 1.0 release, published July 31, 2026. Developer Vert traces the game's arc from an October 2024 project start, through a Steam Next Fest demo in June 2025, to an Early Access opening this past January. The studio credits community feedback with driving the bug-fixing work that shaped the launch build.

Notably, the team frames 1.0 as a foundation rather than a finished product: post-launch priorities include fully fleshed-out Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes, and the final 37 Crisis Cards — content that is not yet in the release.

What changed in 1.0

• Greater Society Initiatives added as legislative bill options, available when domestic crisis level is 0; harder to pass than standard bills but carry larger Legacy rewards and unique benefits, including the ability to discard certain Crisis Cards without effect
• Remaining Exceptional White House Resource Cards implemented
• Remaining Terrorism & Cascading Event cards completed
• Additional Crisis Cards implemented
• Cloud Saves on Steam now supported
• 25 Steam Achievements added
• Presidential Portrait Selection added for the duration of a playthrough
• Pre-game Cascade Card effects introduced, meaning some crises are already active when a new game begins, with initial effects visible during board setup
• New Year's Surprise added to the Begin Turn Sequence
• China Acts 2 and Russia Acts 2 can now be drawn

For existing players, the most structurally significant addition may be pre-game Cascade Cards, which alter the opening state of every new run from the moment the board is assembled.
