Pax Dei has introduced a 7-day free trial on Steam, and the developers are positioning it as a standing offer rather than a temporary promotional event. The distinction matters: players can pick it up when they choose, not only during a narrow promotional window.

What the trial includes

The trial grants access to the complete game — not a stripped-down demo — for the duration of those seven days. According to the announcement, players can:

• Explore the world freely
• Build a home on a temporary Plot
• Craft, gather resources, and trade with other players
• Join a Clan
• Participate in PvE and PvP activities
• Progress their character without gameplay restrictions

What happens when it ends

When the trial expires, game access closes unless a purchase is made. Characters and progression are retained on the developers' servers. Plots stay active for a three-day grace period before being released; any items or materials stored on them move into a Redeeming Queue and can be recovered if the game is later purchased.

The announcement also notes a repeat-trial system: after a set period — currently 90 days — players can run the trial again to experience changes made to the game in the interim.

For players who have been uncertain about committing, the structure removes the usual pressure of a fleeting free weekend while ensuring that any progress made during the trial isn't simply discarded.
