Pax Dei R47 Adds Birds, Recurve Bows, and an Achievement System
The R47 content patch reshapes Pax Dei's archery loop from feather to flight, while laying groundwork for broader account-level progression.
The R47 update is now live across all Pax Dei shards, delivering one of the more substantial content patches the game has seen — touching hunting, crafting, equipment, and player progression in a single release.
What changed
Birds & Hunting
- Six bird species — Grouses, Ptarmigans, Pheasants, Geese, Vultures, and Eagles — now inhabit the game's biomes.
- Birds roam on the ground, react to nearby players, and take flight when disturbed; they can be hunted airborne or grounded, though a bow is strongly recommended.
- Hunted birds yield feathers, a new material used in Fletching for advanced arrow crafting.
Bows & Archery
- A new Recurve Bow family spans Tier 2 through Tier 4, offering greater accuracy, faster arrow speed, and higher damage at the cost of slower draw and reload times.
- Higher-tier bows across the board now provide improved accuracy and faster handling.
- Bows now require crafted Bow Strings as a component.
- All existing bows have received new visual models, with colour variations for attuned and warded versions.
- The former Curved Bow has been renamed the Woodrunner Bow.
Archery Targets
- Ground-standing and wall-mounted archery targets have been added; hitting one announces hit accuracy to nearby players, enabling practice or organised competitions.
Achievements
- An Achievement system is now live, designed to guide new players and offer harder goals for veterans.
- Achievements are shared across an account by region (US, EU, SEA).
- Players should expect a flood of notifications on first login; pressing N silences them.
Also noted: a permissions revamp (described as a first step), chat improvements, new props, and balancing changes are included but not detailed in the release notes.
For players who invested in archery builds, R47 meaningfully deepens that loop — from sourcing feathers in the field to measuring precision on a target range.
