REINCARNAGE Launches Free on Steam, Built Around Gun-as-Weapon Combat
Developer DragonbornElias releases a free arena shooter where discarded firearms become projectiles and executions restore health.
REINCARNAGE, the latest game from developer DragonbornElias, is now available on Steam at no cost.
The game casts players as Nilus — described as the God of Gore re-incarnate — in a final battle against a corrupt military force connected to the character's past. The setting is the end of Earth.
What's in it
The core combat loop revolves around a deliberate resource tension:
- Players cycle through stolen weapons and hurl empty guns directly at enemies
- Kill animations can be executed to recover health
- A dash mechanic is available for arena movement
- Enemies function simultaneously as ammunition, a health source, and a threat
DragonbornElias describes REINCARNAGE as the edgiest project in their catalogue and states it will likely remain so, with future work shifting toward comedic projects — including two further episodes of a separate title, Bane Murrain.
On post-launch support, the developer notes an expectation of fixes and additional game modes, citing their prior work on Mortality Decomp. Killers. as a precedent. No DLC is planned beyond a Support Expansion that may receive updates alongside the base game.
For players drawn to tight, economy-driven action in a compact arena format, the free price of entry removes the usual barrier to finding out whether the design holds up.
