RuneScape's Player-Owned Housing Gets Room Movement, Cape Stands, and Bug Fixes
A wave of Construction updates reshapes what players can do inside their own homes, while Mid-Game Rebalance corrections continue in the background.
A community update published 27 July 2026 by Mod Yuey outlines a focused set of Construction improvements alongside ongoing corrections to last week's Mid-Game Rebalance.
What changed
Construction
- Rooms can now be moved within a Player-Owned House
- Floor customization is now available on a per-room basis
- A new Edit Current Room option targets whichever room the player is standing in
- Loot beams have been added for Player-Owned Housing trophy drops
- New capes are supported by the Cape Stand system; displayed capes now share the same emotes, teleports, and features as their wearable counterparts, accessible via right-click
- Noted potions can now be added to the cauldron
- The ability to make a cup of tea in the Player-Owned House — which boosts Construction level — has been restored
- A bug causing wall-type furniture to be deleted when building or removing an adjacent room has been fixed
Mid-Game Rebalance
- A bug resetting God Wars Dungeon kill count when using the Wars Retreat portal (and similar PvM portals) has been fixed
Looking ahead
The announcement notes that furniture limit increases require a full engine update and are not yet confirmed for a specific release. The Portable Workbench was acknowledged as a priority, with further news promised "in the near future."
For players invested in Player-Owned Housing, the room-movement and per-room floor options alone represent a meaningful expansion of creative control — and the cape stand parity fix closes a long-standing gap between display and function.
