SWEYET(etc.) Is Out, and Its Developer Wants to Give You a Statue
An idiosyncratic solo-developed puzzle game launches with a community challenge baked in from day one.
SWEYET(etc.) — a game the developer confirms has no correct pronunciation — is now available on Steam after what author sshmiam describes as years of on-and-off development.
The launch announcement, written entirely in capitals and with the energy of a handwritten note slipped under a door, carries one concrete community proposition alongside the release itself.
What's being offered
- The first player to earn the achievement "YOU DONT KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME" will receive a custom statue added to an in-game location called the Hub.
- The statue must be, in the developer's words, "suitable for all ages, or at least not pornographic in nature."
- The winner may supply their own statue design or have it modelled by sshmiam; it will display a message and the winner's chosen name on hover.
- Priority is determined by first verified contact with the developer — either via this announcement or by tagging them in the game's Discord.
- Additional statues may be awarded at the developer's discretion.
- A hint for solving the game is available in the game's Discord and in its Steam Discussions page.
The announcement also notes, almost in passing, that sshmiam only recently discovered how to post community announcements at all — finding the page accidentally while testing monitor click density.
For players drawn to obtuse, solo-crafted puzzle experiences, SWEYET(etc.) arrives with a rare incentive: leave a permanent, named mark inside the game itself.
