Tap To Travel 1.1.0 Adds 306 Landmarks, Travel Gear, and Free Fast Travel
A substantial content update reshapes the geography game's core loop with new exploration targets, speed boosts, and quality-of-life navigation tools.
Tap To Travel's first major update, version 1.1.0, arrives with a significant expansion of the world it asks players to traverse.
What changed
- 306 landmarks across 102 countries and territories are now discoverable. Capital flags appear at zoom-out level; landmarks reveal themselves as players move closer.
- Landmark rewards: each country holds three landmarks. Collecting all three earns a random country teleport.
- Travel gear: a rental system lets players spend 1,000 coins for a three-hour speed booster, chosen at random from five tiers — Sneakers (3×), Bicycle (10×), Car (25×), Train (50×), and Aircraft (100×).
- Destination screen: a new pre-journey planning view displays the distance to a target, the steps required to reach it, and items available in that country.
- Passport fast travel: any previously visited country can be jumped to instantly, returning the player to its capital at no cost.
The developer notes that much of the update was shaped by community feedback, singling out the game's first reviewer by name.
For players already moving through the world map, the speed gear in particular changes the calculus of long-distance travel — a 100× aircraft tier compresses what was presumably a slow crawl into something far more deliberate.
