The Lost Mixtape Patches Text Bug, Tunes Collectables in First Post-Launch Update
A two-person studio's debut game gets its first patch, addressing a critical text display failure and a handful of quality-of-life friction points.
Days after launch, the two-person team behind The Lost Mixtape has shipped version 1.0.2484 — a focused first patch that corrects some rough edges from release, including one bug significant enough to affect every line of in-game text.
What changed
Bug fixes
- All in-game text was displaying as "temp" — a placeholder string that has now been corrected.
- Two trash bags that could trap players have been fixed.
Quality of life
- The idle sound for Special Collectables is louder and audible from a greater distance.
- Collision adjustments make certain hidden areas slightly easier to reach.
- Several jumps have been made more forgiving.
Environment
- Physics on some bowling pins were incorrect and have been corrected.
- The cafeteria has received additional ambient lighting.
- Fly particle count in the Intro Area has been increased to better match the existing ambient audio.
The text bug in particular — which rendered all in-game writing as "temp" — would have meaningfully undermined the experience for anyone who encountered it at launch. With that corrected alongside the platforming and navigation adjustments, players returning to the game should find it closer to its intended shape.
