The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition Patch 2.5.10 Adds Cross-Game Save Transfer
The long-requested ability to carry over saves from the original game arrives alongside a focused round of combat, UI, and visual fixes.
Obsidian Entertainment has released Patch 2.5.10.0 for The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition, with the headlining addition being cross-game save transfers across all supported platforms.
What changed
Save Game Transfer
- A new button appears under Settings > Gameplay > Saved Games > Transfer the Outer Worlds Saves
- Supports a one-time transfer of saves from the original The Outer Worlds to the Spacer's Choice Edition
- Available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 — though achievements will not transfer on PlayStation 5 due to platform restrictions
- Saves from the original game must be present on the same machine
Environments & Visuals
- Fixed a shadow issue at the church in Stellar Bay Ruins
- Reduced excessive shininess on character skin, eyes, and hair
- Improved lighting on various characters across the game
- Fixed a phantom shadow appearing on the player ship when the Gorgon DLC cargo box is off-screen
Combat
- Scrap Mechanical enemies no longer damage the player on landing
- Scrap Mechanical will now engage with the group in the Back Bays during combat
- Orthrus the Canid no longer vanishes after the player enters the Geothermal Plant in Emerald Vale
Menus & UI
- Added missing sound effect for the "Flip Sort" inventory action
- Fixed inability to select "No" on unsaved graphics changes
- Junking items no longer alters their mods or durability
- Spacer's Choice faction dialogue lines now appear correctly in the Peril on Gorgon DLC
- Faction discounts now apply properly to all vending machines
- Resolved a duplicate Spacer's Choice entry appearing in the Reputation tab after completing Lucien Bancroft's questline
For players who held off on upgrading precisely because their original saves were stranded, the transfer feature removes the last meaningful barrier to switching editions.
