The Spell Brigade Update 1.1 'Realm Sweep' Adds New Wizard, Objective Variants, and Map Overhaul
Four months of post-launch patches culminate in the game's first named update, bringing a new spellcaster, spell, and a structural rework of how objectives replay.
What changed
Published on 2 September 2026 by BoltBlasterGL, Update 1.1 — titled Realm Sweep — marks the first major content release for The Spell Brigade since its 1.0 launch. Developer BoltBlasterGL notes the update was in production concurrently with ten post-launch patches, which collectively addressed bug fixes, progression rebalancing, performance improvements, economy criticism, a rework of Wizard and Trial unlocking, an improved Devotion system, and the addition of Tiny Mode, among other changes. Seven new Scrolls also arrived during that patch cycle.
Realm Sweep itself adds:
- New Wizard: Eugenie, accompanied by 3 new Outfits and a new Spell, Seismic Slam
- 5 additional unlockable Outfits for Moon Mage, Kavin, Pipwick, Maggie, and Sun Mage
- Objective Variants — after completing an Objective once, players unlock alternate versions that alter the gameplay of that Objective
- Extensive map improvements, described by the developer as too numerous to list in the announcement itself
- A new Roadmap was also added to the game's community presence
The patch carries version number 1.1.0.19533.
For players who have stayed with the game through its busy post-launch window, Realm Sweep represents a shift from stabilisation work toward deliberate content expansion — with the developer explicitly framing this update as "just the tip of the iceberg."
