Waiting for You in Hell

A small but meaningful quality-of-life patch has arrived for the visual novel Waiting for You in Hell, closing a gap in menu accessibility that had gone unnoticed since launch.

What changed

  • The bottom menu — which provides access to fast-forward, save, and load — is now always visible and available.
  • Previously, the menu would disappear during choice selections and while the character Lilith was speaking, leaving players without those controls at critical moments.
  • The issue was reported by community member @林翩翩的桂花糕 via Xiaoheihe, a Chinese gaming platform.

The developer acknowledged the bug slipped through because they do not use auto-read when playing visual novels personally, meaning the affected UI states were simply never encountered during their own playtesting.

Beyond the fix, the announcement notes that a DLC and a soundtrack are currently awaiting store review — a process that has, by the developer's account, already required two resubmissions over logo and title requirements on promotional images.

For players, the fix removes an invisible friction point: saves and fast-forward are no longer locked away precisely when the game is most actively doing something.
