Wartorn 1.0.1 Fixes a Completion Achievement That Could Never Unlock
A session-memory bug meant that players who saw all four endings across multiple sittings could never earn 'The Whole Story' — now it corrects itself on launch.
A quiet but meaningful patch has landed for Wartorn: A Visual Novel of the Ukraine War, addressing a bug that made its completion achievement functionally unearnable for most players.
What changed
- "The Whole Story" achievement now unlocks correctly after all four endings have been seen.
- The root cause: the game was only tracking which endings a player had reached within the current session. Closing and relaunching between endings — the natural way to play — reset that memory, making the trigger condition impossible to meet.
- No replay required. On startup, the game now cross-references existing Steam achievements. Players who already hold all four ending achievements will see "The Whole Story" unlock within a few seconds of launching.
The fix was reported by a player identified as Grzegorz, whose detailed account gave developer fruitcake0525 enough information to isolate the cause.
For anyone who had quietly written off that final achievement, a single launch of the game is now all it takes.
