Clawed Developer Acknowledges Rough Launch, Outlines Fix Priorities
Flatrock Games released Clawed on August 14, 2026, and by the end of launch day the studio was already in damage-control mode — acknowledging in a community post that too many players had not received the experience the team intended to deliver.
The studio was candid about the disconnect: co-op systems that felt stable during internal testing fell apart under real-world conditions. "We were clearly wrong," the post reads.
What changes first
Flatrock has identified three immediate priorities drawn directly from player reviews and feedback:
- Co-op joining issues
- Checkpoint respawn issues
- Collision problems and areas where players can become stuck around the island
Once those are addressed, the studio says it will move on to broader systemic work, including improved interactions, a redesigned save system with an auto-save feature, and better navigation and direction through areas of the park.
The studio also noted that previously announced content updates remain on the roadmap, but correcting the existing experience takes precedence for now. No timelines were given for any of these fixes beyond an acknowledgment that some changes "will take a little longer."
For players who stayed through a difficult launch day, the patch roadmap at least signals that the studio is reading reviews and treating them as a working document rather than background noise.
