Frostrain 2 Patch 1.0.1 Rebalances Artifacts, Fixes Landmark Bugs
Frostrain 2's first numbered patch, version 1.0.1, arrived on 21 July 2026 with a focused sweep of balance changes, one new gameplay option, and a handful of bug fixes.
What changed
Artifact & balance adjustments
- Silver Slack Off now carries a 15% chance to remove itself each time it is used.
- Choi Soon Ja's overall Unhappiness gain has been reduced by approximately 5%.
- Endless Winter: Discontent increase raised from 25% to 30%.
- Life Precipice: Discontent increase raised from 35% to 40%.
- Doubt: Economic Stability drain reduced from -1/day to -0.6/day.
- Social Collapse: Economic Stability drain increased from -1.2/day to -1.6/day.
- Apocalypse: Discontent increase reduced from 65% to 55%.
Gameplay
- Conductor Choi Soon Ja gains access to a new selectable option at the "Broken Engine" encounter.
Bug fixes
- The "Frozen Street" landmark now correctly grants the "Ancient Drone."
- The "Blue Heart" option at the "Ice Fortress" landmark is now properly highlighted.
- The "Acceleration Gate" from the "Tree Tunnel" landmark has been reclassified as a Status.
- Muting volume in settings no longer allows title screen shop audio to play through.
- A freeze triggered by certain Train Drone Supply cards after exhausting all train rewards has been resolved.
- Several achievement unlock conditions have been corrected.
The developer also notes that keyboard shortcut support is in progress but not yet ready for release.
For players deep in an Endless run, the tightened Economic Stability swings and revised Discontent percentages will meaningfully alter which artifacts feel worth building around.
