Space Imperia 4X Patch Fixes Combat Freezes, Adds Concede Option and Codex Overhaul
A new patch for Space Imperia 4X (Breich Games) lands with a substantial list of bug fixes and a handful of features, touching combat, multiplayer, UI, and in-game documentation.
What changed
Fixes
- Combat no longer locks onto already-dead groups, resolving widespread battle freezes
- The infinite loading wheel in raider battles is gone; stuck saves recover on load
- A hang after one combat round with a Doomsday Machine is resolved
- Combat line ordering at Shipyard hexes corrected
- Tutorial text box no longer carries over into a real game
- Mac players can multi-select using Command
- A host locked out of their own full lobby can now re-enter
- Team wins count toward Threat progression; the ladder no longer dead-ends after the first unlock
- Ship consoles display the weapon class letter instead of hull size; Fighters read correctly
- Fighter-only selections can no longer plot illegal moves
- Bombardment stops at the killing hit
- Eliminating a player destroys their stripped colonies' deposits and any cargo in tow
- Scuttle, split, and concede confirmations use the new menu chrome
Features
- Black hole deaths now play a full animation
- Players can concede a multiplayer match from the escape menu; doing so replaces them with an AI, and if all humans quit the last remaining human wins
- 3P Random map type implemented
- Remaining single-player maps are now available
- Units with shots remaining wear an outline during combat
- Codex overhaul: 32 dead links fixed, six new entries, and a tooltip added to every game option
The concede mechanic and Codex cleanup suggest the team is steadily hardening the multiplayer experience ahead of what the announcement describes as an eventual ranked mode.
