Dwarf Eats Mountain v1.4.0 Adds Ritual Hotbar, Hardens Save System
Version 1.4.0 of Dwarf Eats Mountain, published 21 July 2026 by developer Green Wizard, centers on two distinct pillars: a new ritual hotbar and a reinforced save backup system.
What changed
New feature
- A ritual hotbar now lists all rituals in a preset order, displaying their hotkeys, cooldowns, and costs. It can be clicked to cast rituals, dragged by its left-hand area to reposition, or collapsed entirely.
Save system
- The saves backup system has been further hardened against crashes and power failures during the prestige screen, as well as other edge cases that could cause prestige point loss.
Balance
- Denbreaker's Hail permanent damage bonus on den destruction raised from 0.2/0.4/0.6% to 0.4/0.8/1.2%.
- Gold, mithril, and soul costs of Nuclear Research reduced.
- Megapick damage now scales diminishingly with miner count, but base damage is higher and the cap has been removed.
- Quest artifact drop odds (e.g. Philosopher's Stone) slightly increased per mountain level.
Bug fixes
- Input lockout caused by the Foundations of Stone upgrade resolved.
- DPM/OPM panel positions now persist across prestiges.
- Steam achievements occasionally failing to register — fixed.
- Rare ritual cooldown loading bug that could produce multi-day cooldowns — fixed.
- Missing text, localization gaps, tooltip mismatches, and a couple of rare crashes addressed.
Under the hood
- System preparations noted for future changes and upcoming localization support.
For players who rely on rituals heavily, the hotbar reduces the cognitive overhead of tracking abilities mid-run, while the save hardening work quietly protects against some of the more punishing data-loss scenarios the game could previously encounter.
