Volt Deck Launches: A Poker-Solitaire Hybrid Built Around Rewriting Its Own Rules
Volt Deck, a poker-inspired solitaire strategy game from developer Martin (godmanGM), is now available on Steam.
The core loop places electronic components onto a compact 5×2 board. Players build familiar poker hands — pairs, straights, flushes, full houses — then trigger a Power Circuit to convert the setup into a score. Card stacking, run upgrades, and sector bonuses add further texture to each decision.
The distinguishing mechanic is the rule card system. Rather than playing within fixed hand rankings, players combine rule cards to alter how the game evaluates their board. Effects such as DRAW IS WILD or PAIR IS DOUBLE can rescue a difficult level or, when stacked, produce cascading combos from otherwise modest hands.
