Not Quite Dead Squashes Infinite Spawn Bug and Adds Early Vehicle Before Launch
Solo developer Mazxz at VOID Studio has pushed a final round of fixes to Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival ahead of the game's imminent release, targeting several issues that surfaced in community testing.
What changed
- Car driving stability has been improved after a regression introduced the previous day
- FPS issues in the Prison area have been resolved
- Overall optimization in the Prison has been improved
- Zombie movement and navigation inside the Prison has been corrected
- Infinite zombie spawning bug has been fixed — a problem Mazxz reports took roughly three hours to isolate; zombies were continuing to spawn after players left an area, compounding both gameplay and performance problems
Beyond the fixes, Mazxz is adding a large vehicle that had been planned for a post-launch update. The vehicle is tied to an in-game quest and will be unlockable at release via the redeem code survivor, offered as compensation for an unspecified delay.
The announcement credits community member Phoenix with a video report that helped identify the driving regression, a reminder of how much early access bug-hunting depends on player documentation.
For anyone waiting on the game, the practical upshot is a cleaner launch build — particularly in the Prison, which appears to have been a significant performance and navigation trouble spot — with an extra vehicle available from day one.
