CluDoku Rebrands as SusDoku, Overhauls Investigation and Interrogation Systems
The Sudoku-meets-murder-mystery game formerly known as CluDoku has been renamed SusDoku, a change the developer describes as better reflecting the project's core identity: a Sudoku experience built around suspects, evidence, and investigative deduction.
What changed
Interrogation is now interactive. After the board is solved, suspects display animated speech bubbles and can be selected directly on the board. Dialogue appears progressively with accompanying sounds; suspects with multiple statements deliver them together.
Classic mode has been temporarily retired to concentrate the game on its investigation identity — crime scenes, evidence, weapons, and logical deduction.
Investigation Cases are harder and more layered. Medium and Hard difficulties now include four possible murder weapons and retain more suspects in the final deduction. Statements are described as clearer and more natural. The murderer may combine one true claim with one false claim, provided the complete statement remains false. In advanced cases, no single statement or pair of statements can directly reveal the murder weapon — a longer deduction chain is required.
Six new murder weapons have been added:
- Shotgun
- Broken bottle
- Poisoned syringe
- Raven paperweight
- Rolling pin
- Glass ashtray
Each is classified under a weapon type: firearm, sharp weapon, poison, or blunt weapon.
Generator and notebook changes. Rooms now contain furniture suited to their function, with up to 20% fewer chairs. The Investigation Notebook is disabled by default during interrogation, making testimony harder to track.
Taken together, the update narrows the game's focus while demanding more from players who want to reach a solution.
