The Night Archive – No Service Expands Its Dorm with New Space, Tasks, and Audio
Developer Warm Milk has shipped a dorm-focused update for The Night Archive – No Service, expanding the game's intimate setting in both physical space and atmospheric detail.
What changed
New content
- A hallway area now connects the dorm room to the exit, furnished with a bulletin board containing readable items and additional interactive and ambient objects
- Two new optional tasks have been added inside the dorm
- A light has been added inside the fridge
- A full-length movie now plays on the dorm TV
Audio additions
- Refrigerator hum, building ambience, and a neighbor's music track
- Audible voices from another dorm room across the hallway
- Sound effects for throwing away trash, taping a box shut, and removing posters
- Drawer slide sounds on every drawer in the room
- A lamp toggle sound effect
Fixes and adjustments
- A bug allowing Ryan to enter before the required number of tasks were complete has been fixed
- A bug that could automatically discard items picked up near the trash can — bypassing the manual disposal step — has been resolved
- The trash can now uses the same look-and-interact system applied to everything else in the game
- The audio stinger on Ryan's entrance has been removed; the door closing behind him now carries that narrative weight alone
The cumulative effect is a dorm that feels more lived-in and mechanically consistent — a meaningful pass for a game that appears to hinge on environmental immersion.
