Is Destiny 2 still being updated?
What the evidence tells us
Destiny 2’s recorded developer activity appears dormant.
The recorded gap in developer communication is much longer than usual. This does not confirm abandonment.
The latest developer post we hold for Destiny 2 is from 4 months ago. We have not recorded a substantial update in six months, though our record contains developer posts on 16 occasions. Across their history this team posts roughly every 5.5 days, which is what makes the current gap measurable rather than a guess.
This status measures developer communication. Shipped updates are recorded separately below; press coverage does not count toward either.

Recorded substantial updates
No classified release or significant update is available in this record. Developer announcements alone do not establish that a patch shipped; missing records do not prove there were no updates.

How we know this. Every figure here comes from announcements the developers posted themselves on Steam; press coverage is excluded. “Substantial” means a patch, release, or major update rather than a sale or event notice. Nothing on this page is an opinion about whether the game is good. See the full record or check the development status of every game we track.
