Is The Mortuary Assistant dead?

Not by the evidence we hold. The Mortuary Assistant is quiet rather than stopped: the developers last posted 8 months ago, a longer gap than this game usually goes, but not long enough to look like work has ended. This describes communication and shipped updates, not whether anyone is still playing.

Has The Mortuary Assistant been abandoned?

There is no evidence of abandonment, but there is a gap. The developers last posted 8 months ago — longer than The Mortuary Assistant normally goes between posts, which is why it reads as quiet rather than settled.

The most recent developer announcement we hold is dated January 17, 2026.

Is The Mortuary Assistant worth playing?

91.9% of 8,787 Steam reviews are positive, and its Elixir Rating is 91.3 — a score combining that reception with how actively the game is still being developed. Whether it suits you is your call; those are the measurements.

How we know this. Every figure here comes from announcements the developers posted themselves on Steam; press coverage is excluded. “Substantial” means a patch, release, or major update rather than a sale or event notice. Nothing on this page is an opinion about whether the game is good. See the full record or check the development status of every game we track.
