Ashes of Creation Opens a Steam-Native PTR for Alpha Two Testers

Intrepid Studios has made a Private Test Realm (PTR) for Ashes of Creation available directly through Steam. Players who already have the base game in their library should find "Ashes of Creation PTR" listed there as a separate entry.

What changed

• A distinct PTR app is now accessible on Steam alongside the main Ashes of Creation install.
• Installing both clients requires additional storage space; players are advised to verify they have room before downloading.
• The PTR carries no NDA — screenshots, recordings, and streams are permitted.
• Testing communications will be distributed through the Ashes of Creation Discord; an Intrepid account must be linked to Discord to participate.

What to expect inside the PTR

The environment is explicitly unstable by design. Frequent character wipes, a higher density of bugs, and testing focused on specific game systems are all described as normal conditions. New features and bug fixes will be released there before reaching the live build.

For Alpha Two testers, the PTR represents a dedicated, openly shareable space to engage with systems still in active development — with the expectation that the experience will be rougher than what the main client offers.
