Bonehold

Bonehold's 1.0.2 patch, authored by SaikingS and published on 26 August 2026, describes itself as a quality-of-life and bug-fix pass, with the team signalling that new content is planned for the following update.

What changed

Traps & combat feel

  • Spike and Flame traps now display warning animations before triggering
  • Basic attacks (click only) now deal a minimum of 20% damage
  • A new "Reverse Attack Buttons" setting swaps left and right attack inputs
  • Enemies blocking no longer applies to spells and traps where it was deemed illogical (e.g. Spikes, Arcane Trap, Spectral Scythe on its return path)
  • Using staves no longer costs mana

Magic rebalance

  • Spells now scale with the floor on which they were found
  • The magic gear bonus is decreased as a trade-off
  • Blood Slash receives more damage, lower mana and health cost, but a longer cooldown

Meta progression — necromancer upgrade caps raised

  • Health bonus: 150% → 400%
  • Mana bonus: 150% → 400%
  • Stamina bonus: 150% → 300%
  • Physical damage bonus: 150% → 200%
  • Magic damage bonus: 150% → 250%

Achievements & UI

  • Trap kills no longer void the "Pacifist" achievement
  • Spell requirements removed from "Epic Hero" and "Legendary Hero"
  • Two new music tracks added for Red Crystal and Mushroom sub-areas
  • A 0.8-second delay after levelling up prevents accidental skill selection
  • The Gnome Merchant is now considerably stronger; barrels and crates on floors 1–6 have less health

Taken together, the changes tighten the game's feedback loops and remove several friction points that were frustrating legitimate playstyles.
