Celestial Return

Whiplash has shipped Patch 1.0.6 for Celestial Return, resolving several issues that had been shadowing the game since launch.

What changed

  • Startup gray-square bug eliminated. The game could freeze on a gray square on first launch; the patch claims to have resolved this, with the team monitoring for any recurrence.
  • Dice balance adjusted around Elysium Tower. The section immediately before entering the tower in Book 2 has been rebalanced. Players running low on dice can now postpone entering the tower and continue exploring before committing to the quest.
  • Quest Log instability fixed. The log could become stuck after loading a save — that is now corrected.
  • Incorrect quest entry removed. A stray entry was appearing during the Skin Deep questline; it has been cleared.
  • Performance improvements. A number of unspecified optimizations were made, described as producing smoother overall play.

The Elysium Tower change is the most substantive design shift: what was previously a hard gate now offers a temporary reprieve, giving underprepared players room to recover before the encounter begins.
